The Ohio Players were one of the first band I ever saw play live as a young man growing up in San Francisco . They have been and still are one of my favorite groups of all time ,

Is there any chance the OG's will get together for a tour ? If not can the fans bring them back to get it done? Continue

just little more on junie morrison here. george clintons family series 3 cd has superspirit by junie on it. he does the "howard codsell" character on the motor booty affair song by parliament. he might be playing bass on rumpofsteelskin. i think it might be rodney skeet curtis but it depends on who you ask. i like rappin about rappin by junie. and check out his 2004 song when the city its bad! the hook "i go crazy if i dont go see" is the bomb just google junie morrison when the city vox it should come up. one.

i have read this interview by maria granditsky before. its a great one and i will read it many times again. i think sugarfoot is on point with his comments. winston thanks for posting it. magnus i like bread alone too and evacuate your seats by junie. tease me was a big song in detroit. a dj named the electrafying mojo ran with that jam! a singer i know named tonya grew up in ohio and she knew lot of the famous musicians there. add that with me growing up in motown and you can imagine what our talks are like. as far as marshall jones goes i wish i knew what he was doing and, unfortunatly from what im getting sugarfoot is performing as sugarfoots ohio players and diamond has a version with darwin dorch and billy beck i think. i dont know what the deal is but it kind of makes me feel bad that some of these groups are split up this way. i asume its whatever diferences the members may have. war for one is also split up as lonnie jordan tours under the name war and the rest of them have to go out as the low riders so lonnie must own the name. its kind of sad that as older grown men that some of them cant get along. i wish it wasnt like that. i ran into the ohio players road manager once and he told me sugarfoot doesnt play guitar anymore because of autheritis. he just sings. i understand if people arent paid right i just wish it could be resolved because it kills the groups.keep playing that great music. one

Oh yes,I love all the Junie soloalbums.
My favourite is "Bread Alone".
When "Ohio Players" perform live these days are the only
members from the old days Sugarfoot and Diamond?
What is Marshall Jones up to these days?

junie morrison plays keyboards & synthesizers but also guitar, bass, and drums. according to garry shider junie did not just knee deep track hisself. michael hampton did the guitar solo and p-funk and phillpe wynne sung the vocals i think. and yeah those junie westbound albums are the bomb if you can get them. his latter stuff is great to. he put some music out as js theracon as well!

One of my alltime favourite bands.Personal favourites are the trio
"Skin tight","Fire" and "Honey" but I truly love the Junie albums at Westbound too.Their stuff is just timeless.

ezrazmus is correct. to clear this up marshall jones is still alive. back in the 80s when the ohio players did the back cd. they got a new bass player(darwin dortch) and people asumed marshall jones had passed. james diamond williams is one of the greatest funk drummers. and junie morrison & billy beck are both great unsung keyboardists.

according to the information is have clarence "satch" satchell passed away in 1995. ralph "pee wee" middlebrooks (steve washington of slave uncle) passed in 1997. i believe marshall jones passed in 1985. honey & angel are two of my favorite albums. i play lets love, alone, & angel on sunday nights when i just play smooth funk jams til it gets late.

jeruelle -- that about describes my winter right now, sitting on the northside with a space heater aimed at my kick pedal and some diamond on the cans, just trying to keep up :-)
