Slave, Mothers Finest, Baby Huey & the Babysitters. BT Express, Brass Construction, Skyy, Confuntion, Barkays, Cameo and War.

Cameo, Barkays, Fatback Band, Slave, Brothers Johnson, Earth, Wind and Fire, Instant Funk....wow there were so many I can't remember them all. The Funk Era was a great time!!!

I'm assuming when you say the Funk Era , you mean when the faces were mainstream, Funk is still the main component in the dna of music. If it aint Funky aint nobody gonna move to the music or be moved by the the music.

Seeing them live back in the 70's, Heres my ratings. Funkadelic 73, James Brown 69, Sly and the Family Stone71, Bootsy Rubber Band 76, Prince 79, the New Birth 74, Cameo 76, Slave 76, Barkays 76, the Jimmy Castor Bunch 75, and the Stair Steps 70,! but one of my favorites that i never saw live Mother's Finest. Solid!

Dondi: When you mention some of the bands you we're into like New Birth and Jimmy Castor Bunch that's who I was trying to think of yesterday, when I last posted. You may not believe this, out of all the bands I never got a chance to check out for myself was Mandrill. Back in the day I'd heard a few cuts here and there - I don't know, I guess I got sidetracked.
